A red-hot Trinbago Knight Riders, fresh off an unbeaten run in the League stage of Hero CPL 2020, will put their unblemished record on the line against an inconsistent Jamaica Tallawahs in the opening semi-final. The game will bowl off at 10:00h tomorrow (September 8).

Knight Riders are two wins away from a fourth title and the unbeatable record of 12 successive wins in one season of the CPL.

Current form suggests they should topple Tallawahs, who have lost their last three matches, but history puts both sides even after 18 previous encounters.

Knight Riders’ Head Coach Brendon McCullum is backing his side to go all the way, but is guarding against complacency.

“It has been a really good season so far from us, the guys have played some exceptionally good cricket. To be sitting here on the eve of the semi-final with ten from ten is a magnificent effort. I think definitely given the conditions have been so extreme you expect some results to swing, but the way the guys have gone about their work has been second to none,” the Head Coach stated.

McCullum added, “I know that tomorrow’s game we will play, I know that the work we have put in can help us play a good game of cricket tomorrow and hopefully, that is good enough to get the result.”

On the opposing end, Tallawahs skipper Rovman Powell related his charges are confident despite the ixed results this season. The two-time champions have only won three of their 10 games.

“There is a lot of character in the team and a lot of guys who want to be that guy on the big day and it is important when it comes to a semi-final and a lot of things have not gone well, but even though things have not gone according to plan, we have a lot of performers in the team and we are definitely looking forward to the game,” Powell expressed.
