Former head of the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT), Yog Mahadeo has been appointed the new Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Guyana Chronicle.
“Yog”, as everyone fondly calls him, holds a Doctorate Degree in Finance from the Swiss Management Centre University, Vienna, Austria.
He is joined on the Board by Former PPP Member of Parliament (MP) Harry Gill.
Gill will serve as a member of the Board along with former Chief Reporter at the Chronicle Vanessa Narine, media personality Indira Badal, Jason Abdullah, Raul Aaron and Nicole Williams.
The General Manager will serve as an ex officio member of the Board. The Finance Manager Moshamie Ramotar is currently the acting General Manager.
The Board has one more space for an employee to be elected by the staff of the Guyana Chronicle.
According to the official Gazette, Cabinet considered the proposal made by Prime Minister Brigadier (retired) Mark Phillips and approved the above-named persons to constitute the Board.
The appointments will remain in effect for one year from September 3, 2020 to September 02, 2021.
