A mother of one is pleading for the safe return of her 13-year-old daughter who went missing from her Corentyne, Region Six home on September 15.

The mother told the News Room that she was in the shower on the day in question and after she exited she realised her daughter was not in the house.

According to the distraught mother, the teenager has an ongoing court matter against the 16-year-old son of a Police Officer.

The furious and concerned mother said she checked at the house of her relatives but the teen was not there; she then filed a report at the Whim Police Station and the Childcare and Protection Agency.

She was then instructed to go to Central Police Station in New Amsterdam and from there she was advised to go to Number 51 Police Station. She believes the Police are not taking the matter seriously because of the case against the son of the Police Officer.

“I have been running all around to get to look for her and it’s frustrating. I just want my daughter to come back home safe,” the mother said as she broke down in tears.

The teenager is described as a tall, brown in complexion with curly black hair; she has brown eyes. The mother does not know what clothing the teen wore before she left the house.

The mother is pleading with anyone who may have any information to make contact with the Police or her on telephone number 683-3404.

Why did Whim tell her to go to Central who then told her to go No.51? This is real incompetence. Doubtless it will not be addressed and so the decay will continue.

My sympathy to this mother and I hope her daughter turns up soon safe and unharmed.
