65th COVID-19 death; 101 new cases, majority in Reg. 4

Guyana on Sunday recorded the country’s 65th COVID-19 death.

The latest fatality is a 51 -year-old man from Demerara/Mahaica, Region Four who died while receiving care at a medical facility, the Ministry of Health revealed.

Additionally, a total of 101 new COVID-19 cases were recorded from 179 tests, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2, 269.

There are 16 persons in the COVID-19 ICU, 83 in institutional isolation and 767 in home isolation.

There are also 55 persons in institutional quarantine.

The number of persons who have recovered to date is 1, 339.

The new cases were recorded in Region One with 16 news cases, Region Three with two new cases, Region Four with 82 new cases and Region Eight with one new case.
