England’s Women take 2-0 series lead against WI Women

England’s Women took a 2-0 lead in the five-match T20 series against West Indies Women, winning by 47 runs on Wednesday.

England recovered from a wobbly 96-6 in the 15th over to post what turned out to be a commanding 151-8. Sarah Glenn made 26 and Amy Jones 25 as Shakera Selman and Stafanie Taylor took two wickets each.

In reply, West Indies were coasting at 72-1 in the 12th over, but suffered a dramatic collapse that saw them finishing well short of the target at 104-8. Deandra Dottin followed up her first match score of 69 with a topscore of 38, while skipper Taylor made 28.

Glenn, Sophie Ecclestone and Mady Villiers took two wickets each. England would look to wrap up the series when match three is played on Saturday, while West Indies would look to win to stay alive.
