48 new COVID-19 cases, 11 in ICU

Guyana on Wednesday recorded 48 new cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of known cases in the country to 2, 894 with eleven persons in the Intensive Care Unit.
The new cases were recorded in Region One with 17 new cases, Region Two with three more cases, Region Three recorded one new case, Region Four recorded 24 additional cases, Regions Five, Seven and Eight recorded one new case each.
There are 185 persons in institutional isolation and 938 in home isolation while a total of 1,680 persons have recovered thus far.
The number of deaths is at 80 and 52 persons are in institutional quarantine. The number of persons tested to date is 14, 082.
