See below full letter sent to President Donald Trump who along with the First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19 two days ago:

I convey, on behalf of the Government and people of Guyana, and on my own behalf, our best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery to you and First Lady Melania Trump.

The coronavirus pandemic makes no geographic, social or economic distinctions. It represents a threat to all humanity.

It is imperative that states collaborate and cooperate, as they strive to overcome this dreaded disease.

Allow me, in this regard, to express my Government’s profound gratitude and appreciation for the assistance rendered to Guyana, by the United States, as we wage our battle against this pandemic.

We look forward to continued collaboration between the United States of America and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana in this, and other areas.

Please be assured that our prayers are with you, and the First Lady, during your recuperation.

    Dr Irfaan Mohamed Ali

President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana
