A 26-year-old woman of Belvedere Village, Corentyne Berbice, was on Sunday morning killed in an accident on the Seawell Public Road, Corentyne Berbice.
Police in a statement said Radha Shivcharran was the pillion rider on motorcycle # CK 4094, driven by 36-year-old Kenny Teakadharry of Albion Road Corentyne Berbice.
Investigations revealed that they were proceeding west along the southern carriageway of the road at a very fast rate and while negotiating a left bend, Teakdharry lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a steel rail on the northern side of the road.
As a result, they were flung from the motorcycle and received multiple injuries about their bodies.
The incident occurred at about 10:45hrs.
They were picked up and take to the New Amsterdam Hospital, by members of the public.
Shivcharran was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty while Teakdharry was admitted suffering from a fractured right leg and is in a stable condition.
The scene was visited by police and an investigation is ongoing.
