Chief Elections Officer Keith Lowenfield was on Monday slapped with new charges relating to misconduct in public office and forgery by the Guyana Police Force.
This is according to his Attorney Nigel Hughes who spoke with the media moments after his client surrendered to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters, Eve Leary Georgetown where the charges were put to him.
The CEO is being taken to the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where he will be formally arraigned.
Lowenfield is already before the Court on private criminal charges relating to the March 2, 2020 General and Regional Elections and incidents which followed.
The Guyana Police Force has since launched “a comprehensive investigation” into the events surrounding the national elections.
So far, the police have filed charges against Deputy Chief Elections Officer Roxanne Myers and Returning Officer for Region Four Clairmont Mingo.
They have also requested a meeting with Chairman of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) Volda Lawrence who is expected to visit the CID on Tuesday.
Well……did they think that failure was an option? No they did not think that the rigging would fail, which is why they went right to the wall no matter how duncy it got. Now how to deal with the fallout. It has a number of persons scared out of their skin in a certain political party.
