Man with toy gun pounces on Police officers at home of Chief Justice
A man with a toy gun managed to enter the compound of the residence of the country’s Chief Justice Roxane George undetected on Wednesday, scaring two Police officers and then jumping over a fence to escape.
Police said that at about 14:00 hrs Wednesday, two officers were on duty when one left the hut and went into the washroom when she was confronted by a man about 5 feet 4 inches in height, dark in complexion and slim built. He was wearing a pair of black short pants and a white jersey tied around his face.
The man was armed with an object that appeared to be a black handgun. He approached the rank and pointed the object at her and fired a punch at her but missed. She then called out for the other rank who was in the garage of the building and armed with a .38 revolver.
The rank having heard the call went out to see who it was when the said male pointed at him, causing the rank to take cover.
However, the man dropped the object in his hand and ran in a northern direction and jumped over a fence, making good his escape. The object was a toy gun.
No shots were fired no one was injured, Police headquarters stated.
