East Ruimveldt teen stabbed to death during row over money
Police are on the hunt for three men who murdered 18-year-old Adrian Purlette during an argument over money.
Purlette of East Ruimveldt, Georgetown was stabbed to the chest outside of a friend’s house at Hoopie Lane between Durban and Hadfield Streets Wednesday night. The incident occurred at about 21:00h.
Regional Commander, Simon Mc Bean told the News Room the three men approached Purlette and demanded money from him, after Purlette told them he had no money they began arguing. The teen subsequently walked away from the men who then followed him and stabbed him.
The friend reported that he heard Purlette screaming and found him lying in a pool of blood. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he died while receiving treatment at about 02:00h Thursday.
Relatives told the News Room, Purlette was the youngest of six siblings and worked at a butcher shop. He left his home earlier on Wednesday but did not say where he was going.
