North West man, hacked about his body with cutlass, names killer before dying

A 35-year-old man of Kwebanna Village, North West District died Monday after he was severely chopped to the head, neck and shoulder by a 23-year-old relative.

Dead is Kamal Wilson.

Police Headquarters reported that the incident occurred in Kwebanna at about 19:30 hrs. Police said Wilson went to check his generator at the back of the yard when the suspect came up to him and started chopping him with a cutlass.

Wilson managed to run into his house and lock the door. His father said he heard his son’s screams and subsequently found him lying on the floor covered in blood. Wilson told his father who attacked him and a report was made at the Acquero Police Station.

Police said there were no reports of Wilson and the suspect having any problems.

Wilson was taken to the Kumaka District Hospital where he died while receiving treatment at about 23:16h.

Police said ranks then managed to locate and arrest the suspect. Investigations are ongoing as police search for the murder weapon.
