27 new COVID-19 cases recorded


Guyana recorded 27 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday taking the overall total known cases to 4,484.

According to the Ministry of Health’s daily dashboard, the new cases include eight males and 19 females.

The new cases were recorded as follows: 10 in Region One, four in Region Two, one in Region Three, ten in Region Four, one in Region Five and one in Region Six.

There are 11 persons in the COVID-19 intensive care, 73 in institutional isolation and 753 in home isolation. The Ministry reported that to date, 3,511 persons have recovered, which is an increase of 44 from Friday’s 3,467.

So far, 134 persons have lost their lives due to the pandemic. There are 40 persons in institutional quarantine.
