Foreign Secretary meets first Indian woman elected to NY state assembly

Foreign Secretary, Robert Persaud, recently met and congratulated newly-elected New York State Assembly member, Ms Jenifer Rajkumar.

Ms Rajkumar was elected to represent New York’s 38th district in the New York General Assembly. She is the first Indian American to serve in the Assembly and will represent a significant section of the Guyanese community living in the New York area.

Persaud discussed with Rajkumar areas on how the diaspora can be supported better through her office, as well as exploring further areas of collaboration between the Guyanese business community, and the State of New York.
