The Ministry of Health on Saturday said 70 new positive COVID-19 cases were recorded, taking Guyana’s overall known cases to 4, 794.
The new cases were recorded in Region One with seven new cases, Region Two recorded two new cases, Region Three recorded one new case, and Region Four recorded 48 cases.
Region six recorded one new case, Region Seven recorded five new cases, Region Eight with three cases and Region Ten recorded three new cases.
There are nine patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 48 patients are in institutional isolation and 874 are in home isolation. An additional 36 persons, who came into contact with positive patients, are in institutional quarantine.
To date, 138 persons have died and 3, 725 have recovered. The number of tests done so far is 24, 411.
