Baramita teen found murdered after drinking spree with mother
A 16-year-old girl of Baramita Village in Region One was found murdered in a gold mine in the North West on Sunday at about 07:30h.
Police Headquarters revealed that the teenager was consuming alcohol with her mother on Saturday at a shop along with the suspect in the murder. After a while, both mother and daughter became intoxicated, bought more alcohol and subsequently left with the suspect.
The shop owner told investigators that the mother later returned to the shop and spent a little while. The next morning the teen’s body was found motionless with marks of violence about her body. Police said the body was found behind her dwelling quarters.
The young woman was pronounced dead on arrival at the Port Kaituma Hospital and is awaiting a post mortem examination.
Policed ranks are out hunting the suspect.
