Medical doctor found dead in Roxanne Burnham Gardens home

The Guyana Police Force is investigating the death of 60-year-old Wesley Torrington, a Medical Doctor and Lecturer, who was discovered lying motionless in a chair in the living room of his Marigold Street, Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Georgetown house at around 11:00h on Friday.

A report from Police Headquarters noted that Torrington lived alone and was last seen alive on November 16 at about 19:30h, by his neighbour.

According to the police, Torrington had told the neighbour that he was not feeling well. On Friday, the said neighbour made checks at the house but did not get any response. The police were subsequently contacted and they later discovered Torrington’s body; no marks of violence were observed.

“Checks conducted on the home showed no signs of forced entry, neither was it ransacked.   The body is presently at Lyken Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem examination while investigations continue,” Police Headquarters said.
