Armed bandits break into doctor’s quarters at Skeldon

Two men, armed with a knife, pounced on a medical doctor attached to the Skeldon Public Hospital in the wee hours of Monday and carted off approximately $735,000 in cash and valuables

At around 04:00 hrs on Monday, Dr. Edvardo Gutierrez Alvaeer, 49, was awakened by loud sounds emanating from the living room.

Dr. Alvaeer got up to investigate and upon opening his bedroom door, he was confronted by the two robbers. One of the men held on to the doctor’s neck and relieved him of his gold chains valued at $510,000.They also escaped with two Smart television sets valued $ 75,000 and $150,000.

The two bandits gained entry into the living quarters, which is located in the compound of the Skeldon Hospital, through an eastern window and made their escape through the northern door.

Following investigation, the Police recovered a grey hoody, a torchlight and a screwdriver on a tank at the western side of the compound.

The Police are seeking the suspects as their investigation continues.
