    Police have arrested two suspected bandits, both age 23, of Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo, who allegedly robbed four residents on Tuesday evening on the Meten-Meer-Zorg (MMZ) public road, West Coast Demerara,

    The victims have been identified as 25-year-old Shiradatt Ramlall of Railway View, MMZ; 33-year-old Aneela Raghemoudan; Paul Jaipaul, 25, of Railway View; and 29-year-old Lohouna Rakesh Pitamber, also of Railway View.

    Police Headquarters in a statement noted that the victim were heading home when two men a red and white XR motorcycle approached them at around 18:30h.

    It is alleged that one of the bandits, who was wearing a white vest, took out a silver object which appeared to be a gun and dealt Ramlall, Jaipaul and Pitamber lashes about their face and took away their valuables.

    The bandits took from Ramlall two cell phones, while Raghemoudan lost a cellphone and $3,000 cash; they took from Jaipaul, a yellow metal chain, one yellow metal ring valued  $90,000 and one blu phone valued $20,000.

    Pitamber lost a Samsung cellphone valued 7,000 and $ 45,000 cash.

    The men made good their escape on the said XR motorcycle in an unknown direction.

    Police found the suspects in Zeelugt with a motorcycle fitting the description.
