Man found dead in Tuschen apartment

Police are investigating the death of 54-year-old Azad Khan, of Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo, who was discovered lying motionless on a bed in his apartment on November 25, 2020, about 17:00h.

Police Headquarters in a statement noted that Khan lived alone and was last seen alive on November 25 at about 07:00h by his landlord.

The landlord told police that when he returned home from work at about 17:00h, he called out several times for Khan but got no response; he subsequently looked through a window situated by the bedroom of Khan and observed him lying motionless.

“The body was examined by detectives and no marks of violence were found, however, what appears to be ejected matters from the stomach was seen on his bed and his mouth,” the police report noted.

Khan was taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where he was examined and pronounced dead by a doctor on duty. The body is at the Ezekiel Funeral Parlour awaiting a post mortem examination.
