Linden “Sweetie man” found dead with gaping wound to throat
Police are investigating the murder of 54-year-old Dwane Williams, known as “Levi” or “Sweetie man”, who was found dead at his Wismar Housing Scheme, Linden house on Friday morning.
He was found lying behind a shack at 05:45h by his 33-year-old nephew who observed a gaping wound to the throat and another to his right wrist. The area was searched and a knife was found.
Police believe that Williams, who lived alone, was killed between 21:00h Thursday and 05:45h on Friday.
Police that Williams visited his 88-year-old mother on Thursday at her One Mile Wismar house, which she shares with the nephew; it is alleged that he left the house and told them he was going home to cook.
On Friday, persons in the area told the nephew that Williams was seen lying behind a shack. The body was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex and later taken to the G. Jetsco Funeral home awaiting a post mortem examination.
Williams was a vendor in the area.
