The Ministry of Health on Sunday said 38 new positive COVID-19 cases were recorded from 231 tests, taking Guyana’s overall known cases to 5, 376.
The new cases were recorded in Region One with three new case while Region four recorded four-positive cases. Region six recorded 23 cases; Region Seven recorded six new cases, and Region Ten recorded two new cases.
There are three patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 75 patients are in institutional isolation and 782 are in home isolation. An additional 43 persons, who came into contact with positive patients, are in institutional quarantine.
To date, 150 persons have died, the latest being a 6-day-old baby, and 4, 346 have recovered. The number of tests done so far is 29, 752.
