The Ministry of Health on Wednesday recorded 32 new COVID-19 cases from 385 tests, taking Guyana’s overall number of confirmed cases to 5, 732.
Region Six recorded the majority of the news cases with a total of 17 new cases.
Regions Two and Eight recorded one case each while Region Three recorded two new cases and Region Four 11 new cases.
There are 638 patients in home isolation, 47 in institutional isolation and five patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara.
An additional 32 persons, who came into contact with positive patients, are in institutional quarantine.
To date, 154 persons have died from the dreaded disease.
