The Guyana Olympic Association has appointed its Women in Sport Commission. The body comprises seven members.
Mrs. Tricia Fiedtkou – Travel Agent/Manager/Hockey – Chairperson
Ms. Cristy Campbell – Editor/Entrepeneur/Tennis
Ms. Onefa George – CPCE Teacher/Physical Education
Mrs Emily Ramdhani – Banker/Badminton
Ms. Britney Van Lange – Engineering Psychologist/GDF LT/Olympic swimmer
Ms. Runita White – Assistant Manager/Powerlifting
Ms. Tatiana Woodroffe – Entrepreneur/Swimming coach
The objective of this Commission is in keeping with that of Panam Sports – to ensure the constant growth of women in both sport and leadership.
Some of the work will involveĀ facilitating connections between potential players and the National associations/clubs, raising awareness of gender equality, sexual harassment in sport and anti-doping.
According to the Chairperson, Mrs Fiedtkou – “I am excited to be heading this diverse group of professional, independent and accomplished women and we will do our best to create a strong base to empower our girls and women for the future.”
The first engagement in 2021 will be a Women in Sports Leadership workshop.
