28 new COVID-19 cases, 19 new recoveries

The Ministry of Health on Friday recorded 28 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of confirmed cases to date to 5, 839.
The new cases were recorded in Region Four with 14 new cases, Region Ten recorded five new cases, Region One recorded four new cases, Regions Three and Six each recorded one new case while Region Five recorded two new cases.
There are 692 patients in home isolation, 43 in institutional isolation and six patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital at Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara.
Nineteen new recoveries were also recorded taking the overall recoveries to 4, 944. The Ministry has also recorded 154 COVID-19 related deaths.
To date 33, 350 COVID-19 tests have been done.
