Reg. 10 records bulk of 43 new COVID-19 cases

Guyana on Wednesday recorded 43 new cases of COVID-19 from 614 tests, taking the overall known cases in the country to 6,016.

Of the new cases, Region 10 recorded the majority with 24, while Region One recorded three more cases; Region Two with four new cases; Region Three recorded an additional eight cases; 10 more cases were found in Region Four; Region Five has 21 new cases; Region Six recorded one new case and Region Nine with two more cases.

There are seven persons in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 36 in institutional isolation and 630 persons are isolated at home. The number of recoveries stands at 5,185, which means there are only 831 active COVID-19 cases.

There are 16 persons in institutional quarantine; thus far a total of 34,652 persons have been tested countrywide for the disease.
