The Guyana Oil Company (GuyOil) on Thursday awarded $1M to its first winner of the ‘Be A Super 95 Millionaire’, Mr. Roy Lennox Marshall of Better Hope, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
According to a statement from the company, Marshall who is “a faithful GuyOil customer,” was selected from over 30,000 entries. The company said he buys large quantities of fuel products including gasoline and diesel for both personal and commercial use as he operates a grocery shop.
The cheque was handed over GuyOil’s General Manager Mr. Trevor Bassoo, at the company’s Regent Street Service Station on Thursday.
Bassoo noted that given the hardships brought on by the pandemic, the 2020 Christmas promotion was designed to spread joy in homes across the nation that support GuyOil and the Super 95 Gasolene brand.
The ‘Be A Super 95 Millionaire’ promotion rewards customers when they purchase $3,000 worth of Super 95 Gasolene from service stations nation-wide.
With each purchase of $3,000 worth of Super 95 Gasolene, customers can enter to win up to $1,000,000 in cash.
The total cash and prize giveaway during the 5-week promotion is over $4,000,0000, according to the company.
In addition to weekly drawings for cash, entrants also have the chance to win Smart TVs, tablets, Super 95 vouchers, Grocery vouchers and Giftland shopping vouchers.
This week’s winners of consolation prizes were: Amiki Amsterdam, Adrian Reese, Suresh Rameshwar, Deodat Herman, Wendell Jeffrey, Jamal Mitchell, Mark Thomas, Anthony Caleb and W. Brathwaite.
Other drawing dates are December 23 and 30 and January 6 and 15, 2021.
