34 new COVID-19 cases recorded from 381 tests

Guyana on Friday recorded 34 new cases from 381 tests, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 6, 076.

Sixteen of the new cases were recorded in Region Ten, which is now an area of concern for the Ministry of Health. Region Ten recorded a total of 102 cases within the last few days.

The other new cases were recorded in Region Seven with seven new cases, Region Five recorded five new cases, Region Six recorded six new cases, Region Three recorded three new cases and Region One recorded two new cases.

To date, 159 persons have died and 5, 288 have recovered and there are 788 active cases countrywide.
There are six patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Infectious Disease Hospital, 35 in institutional isolation and 588 in home isolation.
