    Two men, one 44-years-old and the other 53-years-old, were transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital after they were rendered unconscious in separate accidents on Friday.

    Police in a statement on Saturday said the first accident occurred at about 14:07hr at Floor Access Road, Port Kaituma, North West District (NWD).

    Clarence Williams, 53, of Citrus Grove, Port Kaituma was speeding on his All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and while negotiating a right turn, he lost control and toppled.

    Police said he became unconscious and was picked up by public spirited citizens and taken to the Port Kaituma District Hospital. There, he was examined by doctor on duty and referred to the Georgetown Public Hospital for further medical attention since he was suffering from multiple Injuries.

    He was admitted as a patient at the GPHC.

    The second accident occurred at around 16:30 hrs on the Karau Trail, Cuyuni Mazaruni and involved the 44-year-old man. He has not been identified by his address was given as First Avenue, Bartica.

    Police said the man was speeding on his motorcycle when he lost control and fell; he sustained injuries to his face.

    The man was picked up by a passerby in an unconscious state and taken to the Bartica Regional Hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor and treated for his injuries.

    He was subsequently transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital for further treatment; his condition is listed as critical.
