Unidentified man killed in Soesdyke/Linden Highway accident

A so far unidentified man was killed after he was struck down by a motorcar on the Kuru Kururu Public Road on the Soesdyke Linden Highway Tuesday night.

Regional Commander Senior Superintendent Linden Isles told the News Room that the victim is of East Indian descent and about 35 years old. He was wearing a light blue long pants, white t-shirt and red shoes.

The accident occurred at about 21:00h. The driver of the car is a 42-year-old man of Bourda, Georgetown.
According to the Commander, the driver claimed that the victim ran across the road into the path of his car and was struck down. He was picked up in an unconsciousness state and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The driver was arrested and taken into custody where he is assisting with investigations. The Commander said the driver tested negative for alcohol.
