Female constable injured in Cove and John accident

A 44-year-old Woman Special Constable is nursing injuries about her body at the Georgetown Public Hospital after the motorcycle she was on collided with a car early Friday.

Police Headquarters reported that Aquaba Assanah of Haslington, East Coast Demerara was proceeding east along the northern side of the Cove and John Public Road when the driver, Bryon Mahendra, a fisherman stopped to allow a vehicle coming in the opposite direction to turn south into the access road.

The driver alleged that during this process Assanah overtook several vehicles and collided with the front left side of his car. As a result she fell onto the roadway and received injuries about her body.
The accident occurred at about 12:20h. Police investigations are ongoing.
