Police are investigating the murder of 32-year-old Paul Anthony Smith called ‘Blacka’, a clothes vendor of Bent Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown.
Police Headquarters in a statement revealed that Smith was shot to the upper back by another clothes vendor at about 18:00h on Friday. The incident occurred on Commerce Street in Georgetown. The suspect has since been arrested and assisting with the investigation.
According to reports, Smith was observed holding a cutlass and heading to his car when he was shot by another male, as a result he fell on the front passenger seat of his car.
Smith was subsequently picked up by public spirited citizens and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
