The Ministry of Housing and Water’s Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) will on January 12 and 13 open bids for works in 18 housing projects across four regions.

Minister Collin Croal at a recent housing exercise said the sector’s advancement provides major spin-off benefits for the economy.

“When our government invests in the housing sector, there is a direct positive effect on job creation in the construction sector, increased spending, and a greater demand for basic goods and services. All of this results in good things for small and medium-scale businesses, truckers, taxi drivers, bus operators, carpenters, painters, and many others,” he stated.

Region Three residents can look forward to developments in Meten-Meer-Zorg, Stewartville, Anna Catherina, Edinburgh, and Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara.

In Region Four, the development will take place in Prospect, Providence, Little Diamond, and Great Diamond on the East Bank Demerara and Cummings Lodge, Mon Repos, Annandale, La Bonne Intention, Vigilance, Bladen Hall, and Strathspey on the East Coast.

Meanwhile, in Regions Five and Six, works are slated for Experiment, Hampshire, Williamsburg, No. 75 Village, No. 79 Village, Ordnance, Fortlands, and Canje.

Tenders for Region Four open on January 12. Those for Regions Three, Five, and Six open on January 13.

All projects have a construction period of 150 days per lot.
