Construction worker beaten unconscious after trying to make peace with suspects

A 43-year-old construction worker of North East La Penitence, Georgetown was beaten unconscious on Sunday last after he tried to make peace with two Spanish-speaking men. Police said Vindon Nurse who is currently working on the construction of the Matthews Ridge Primary School in Region One was assaulted by the two men, who are also working on the site.

According to reports at about 08:00h at Matthews Ridge, Nurse observed the two men involved in a violent altercation and as a result, he approached them in a bid to keep the peace and was subsequently attacked by the men.

He was taken to the Pakera District Hospital where he is admitted.

The suspects, a 21-year-old and a 29-year-old, were arrested and are in custody assisting with the investigation.
