33 new COVID-19 cases

The Ministry of Health on Thursday reported no new COVID-19 related death, however, a total of 33 new cases were recorded from 327 tests done countrywide.

This takes the overall number of confirmed cases to 6, 469 with 5,990 recoveries.

Regions One, Two and Six recorded three new cases each while Regions Three, Five and Seven recorded one new case each.

Region Four recorded the single highest total for new cases when compared to the other regions with 12 new cases, followed closely by Region Eight with nine new cases.

Regions Nine and Ten recorded no new cases.

There are 287 patients in home isolation, 20 in institutional isolation and five patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.

So far 167 persons have died from the virus in Guyana.
