Three men opened fire at home of Ponzi Scheme accused – CCTV footage shows
As police investigate a shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday night at the residence of Yuri Garcia Dominguez and his family, CCTV footage confirmed that the act was carried out by three armed men.
Police in a statement on Thursday said the property is owned by 42-year-old businessman, Aubrey Norton. The incident occurred just after 20:00h at the Track ‘A’ Coldingen, East Coast Demerara property where Norton and his wife reside in the upper flat of the building.
The lower flat is occupied by Yuri Garcia Dominguez and his family who were not at home at the time of the incident. Dominguez is currently before the courts, charged with operating an alleged ponzi scheme.
Police said Norton and his wife were at home watching television when he heard several loud explosions, suspected to be gunshots. As a result, they took cover and contacted the police. Ranks upon arrival, processed the scene and three live 9MM rounds, four 7.62 x 39 spent shells, 11 9MM spent shells and fragments, suspected to be component of ammunition, were found on the street and in the victim’s yard.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV camera installed on the victim’s home.
Investigations are ongoing.
