41 new COVID-19 cases

The Ministry of Health on Friday reported no new COVID-19 related death, however, a total of 41 new cases were recorded from 518 tests done countrywide.

This takes the overall number of confirmed cases to 6, 510 with 6000 recoveries.

Region Four recorded the majority of new cases with 13 followed closely by Region One with 12 new cases.

Regions Two, Three, and Seven recorded one case each while Region Six recorded no new case.

Region Five recorded two new cases, four new cases were recorded in Regions Eight and Nine, and three cases in Region Ten.

There are 296 patients in home isolation, 41 in institutional isolation and six patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.

So far 167 persons have died from the virus in Guyana.
