A 21-year-old resident of Tucville, Georgetown was charged yesterday with robbery and placed on $30,000 bail. Clive Field called Anthony Prince appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charge which alleged that on Sunday last, he robbed Venezuelan national, Ricky Menque of a Samsung cellphone and $25,000. The incident occurred in the vicinity of the Stabroek Market area.
Field was caught on camera being brutally assaulted by three members of the Guyana Police Force, who according to police headquarters responded to the robbery.
The Police have claimed that Field actually assaulted and injured the cops first and as such they were defending themselves.
In the video, a police rank is seen cuffing the suspect at the back of the police vehicle and subsequently holding the suspect down in an effort to arrest him.
