    Guyana on Sunday recorded 33 new cases of COVID-19 from 547 tests, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the country since March 2020 to 6,574.

    These new cases were recorded across Region One (one case), Region Two (two cases), Region Three (four cases), Region Four (17 cases), Region Six (two cases), Region Seven (one case), Region Eight (one case), and Region 10 (five cases).

    There are currently 402 active cases with five persons in the COVID Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 50 in institutional isolation, 33 in institutional quarantine and 314 in home isolation.

    An additional 17 persons have recovered, taking the total recoveries to 6,036.

    The updated COVID–19 Emergency Measures are in force from January 1, 2021, until January 31, 2021. All persons are required to wear face masks when leaving their homes. Physical distancing and adequate sanitisation are also important.

    The current curfew time is 22:30 to 04:00h. Persons with symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to call the COVID-19 hotline numbers: 231-1166; 226-7480; or 180/181 for assistance.
