Speeding turns deadly for Kuru Kururu man

Forty-seven-year-old Lester Williams of Kuru Kururu Soesdyke, Linden was killed early on Sunday morning when he lost control of his car and crashed into a parked motor lorry on the Soesdyke Public Road, East Bank Demerara.

According to a police report, the accident occurred at about 02:00h and involved motor car #HC 8750 owned and driven by Williams and motor lorry #GNN 5308.

Inquiries by the police revealed that Williams was processing north along the western side of the road at a fast rate of speed when he lost control and collided with the truck which was parked on the western side of the road facing south.

Williams received injuries about his body and picked up by police and public-spirited citizens and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he was pronounced dead.
