Guyana on Wednesday recorded 43 new COVID-19 cases from 195 tests; this takes the total number of confirmed cases to date to 6, 696.
Region Four recorded 15 new cases, Region Six recorded 11 new cases, Region Seven recorded four new cases and Region Ten recorded five new cases. Regions One, Two, Three and Five each recorded two new cases.
There are 402 patients in home isolation, 57 patients are in institutional isolation and four patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.
To date, 170 persons have died while 6, 063 have recovered. The number of tests done so far is 42, 327.
