Cop accused of producing fake ‘sick leave’ forms released on bail
A 21-year-old police constable was on Tuesday released on $50,000 bail after he was slapped with three counts of uttering forged documents.
Omali Lloyd appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court where he pleaded not guilty to the offences, which alleged that on two occasions, he produced ‘sick leave’ from two doctors at the Linden Hospital Complex, which was found to be forged.
On another occasion, he produced a ‘leave form’ purportedly signed by an officer but on verification, the document was found to be fake.
He was granted bail in the sum of $25,000 each for two of the charges and self-bail for the third charge. He was ordered to lodge his passport at the court and report to the Wismar Police Station on the last Friday of every month.
The case is adjourned to January 22, 2020.
