Pouderoyen youth seriously injured in Goed Fortuin accident

Twenty-year-old Zebbelon Cadogan, a motorcyclist of Middle Street, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, is being treated for serious injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital following an accident on the Goed Fortuin Public Road.

Police Headquarters in a statement said the accident occurred on Wednesday at about 11:40hrs and involved a motor pick-up driven by a 27-year-old male of Goed Fortuin and motorcycle #CK 6554 driven by Cadogan.

Investigations have so far determined that the pick-up was proceeding north along the road; the driver claimed that while turning right onto the eastern side of the road, Cadogan, who was proceeding in the said direction behind him, collided with the right-side front door.

Cadogan flung off his motorcycle and landed on a parked car and then ended up inside a nearby drain where he received injuries about his body.

He was picked up in a conscious state and taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty, who later transferred him to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was admitted a patient.

The driver was arrested and is in custody at the at La Grange Police station where he is assisting with the investigation.
