As of Monday a total of 23 new COVID-19 cases were recorded from 262 tests, taking Guyana’s overall number of confirmed cases to 6, 931.
Region Four recorded 10 new cases while Region Five recorded nine new cases, Region Three recorded two new cases while Regions One and Ten each recorded one new case.
To date, 6, 173 persons have recovered from the dreaded virus and 170 have died.
There are 551 patients in home isolation, 33 patients are in institutional isolation and four patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital. An additional 19 persons who came into contact with positive patients are in institutional quarantine.
