The Guyana Oil Company (GUYOIL) on Tuesday ended its Christmas promotion, dubbed ‘Be A Super Millionaire’, with a grand prize-giving ceremony at its Regent Street Service Station.

The Christmas promotion, which was launched on December 11, 2020, ended in two of the company’s loyal customers becoming millionaires.

Winners came from Better Hope, Essequibo, West Bank Demerara and Berbice.

A total of 56 GUYOIL Service Stations participated in the promotion, which lasted for six weeks. There were 55 winners, with the first millionaire being Lennox Marshall of Better Hope, East Coast of Demerara, and first female driver Annique Rigby coming from the Mining Town of Linden.

The million dollars aside, the other prizes included Giftland Mall shopping vouchers, a 30-inch Smart TV, G$300,000 cash and electronic devices, and were distributed by the company’s marketing executive, Ashmin John.

Rigby, the millionaire, expressed her happiness and added that the oil company is doing a great job. “I’m overjoyed, I’m excited. Words cannot explain how I feel,” an overwhelmed Rigby said.

Marshall also related his satisfaction and explained that supporting GUYOIL is nothing new to him and he felt content to be on the winning side.

“Winning is something that people normally would appreciate; to know you get a call to hear that you won one million dollars just like that (you) become emotional,” Lennox said.

The Deputy General Manager of GUYOIL, Molly Hassan, added that to pull the curtains on the campaign, the company had distributed prizes to the other participants of the promotion.
