Duo charged with armed robbery granted bail
Two men who stole a motorcycle from a teenager appeared at the Charity Magistrate’s Court on Monday charged with armed robbery.
Charles Abrams, 28, a miner of Henrietta Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast, and Travis Persaud, 28, a labourer of Anna Regina Market Street, Essequibo Coast, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
They were granted $150,000 bail each by Magistrate Esther Sam; the case is adjourned to February 12, 2021. It is alleged that the duo robbed 18-year-old Rudranauth Chandrika of a Lifan motorcycle valued at $220,000 on May 3, 2020, at Mashabo Essequibo Coast.
