Chandrapaul Hemraj with the bat and Gudakesh Motie with the ball were the Guyana Jaguars players who most impressed at the second practice match at the La Bonne Intention Community Centre ground on Wednesday.

Opener Hemraj struck a fluent 41 (4x6s; 2x4s) and shared a 60-run opening stand with fellow Jaguars player Trevon Griffith (16), which proved to be the mainstay of their side’s 109 all out in 32.1 overs.

Ramaal Lewis with 15, was the only other player to reach double-figures for the Jaguars players, who are selected for next month’s Super50.

Shimron Hetmyer made a six-ball duck and was dismissed leg before to Keon Joseph, while captain Leon Johnson, Christopher Barnwell, Anthony Bramble and Akshaya Persaud all failed to produce a significant score.

The man who did the damage with the ball was Motie with figures of 10-4-22-5, and he had support from Keon Joseph (2-28 from four overs). Devendra Bishoo (1-9) and Kevin Sinclair (1-12) were also among the wickets.

In response, Assad Fudadin struck a solitary maximum in his six runs, but it was Kevlon Anderson, who opened the batting and made an attractive 34.

Tevin Imlach, one of Jaguars’ new selectees, made 17 before he was leg before to Christopher Barnwell, who picked up 2-28.

Tagenarine Chanderpaul (28*) struck a four and six off of Antony Adams to win the match in 19.3 overs. The third and final practice match is scheduled for Saturday from 09:00h.
