19 new COVID-19 cases recorded

As of Monday, January 25, 2020 Guyana recorded 19 new cases of COVID-19 from 97 tests. This means that there are now 7, 317 confirmed cases of the virus almost a year after the country recorded its first case.

The new cases were recorded in Regions One and Three with two new cases each, Regions Two, Six and Ten each recorded one new case while Regions Four and Five both recorded four new cases and Region Seven recorded six cases.

There are now 670 patients in home isolation, 38 patients are in institutional isolation and six patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.

To date, 6, 431 persons have recovered and 172 have died.
