Linden man dies after losing control of motorcycle

A 29-year-old man of Blue Berry Hill, Wismar Linden died after he lost control of the motorcycle he was driving on Saturday last.

Dead is Adriel Drakes. Police Headquarters in a statement revealed that the accident occurred at about 16:30h on the Sir David Rose Avenue Public Road in Mackenzie, Linden.

According to reports Drakes was speeding at the time of the accident and lost control of the motorcycle. Police said while he was negotiating a left bend on the road he collided with the front right side of a motor car being driven by Clifton Cadogan, a pensioner.

As a result of the collision Drakes fell on the road surface and received injuries about his body. He was picked up by public spirited citizens in an unconscious state and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where he died while receiving medical treatment.

Both vehicles were lodged at the Mackenzie Police Station and the driver of car was taken into custody.
