Guyana recorded 29 new cases of COVID-19 from 201 tests conducted over the past 24 hours. This means that there are now 7, 346 confirmed cases of the virus almost a year after the country recorded its first case.
The new cases were recorded in Regions Three with three new cases, Regions Four with nine new cases, Region Five with eight new cases, Region Seven and Ten with four new cases each and Region Eight with one new case.
There are now 672 patients in home isolation, 42 patients are in institutional isolation and five patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.
To date, 6, 42 persons have recovered and 172 have died.
